The NeuroPioneers Pathway is designed for motivated middle and high school students interested in exploring neuroscience and brain health, as well as mentorship. We welcome students from all backgrounds, including those with no prior experience in neuroscience, who are eager to learn and engage with real-world brain health topics.
To fully participate in the program, students should meet the following requirements:
WHO SHOULD APPLY / ELIGIBILITY
Rising 7th graders to recent HS graduates or international equivalent levels
Example: Grades 7-12 / Forms 1-6 / JSS1 - SS3
Students interested in neuroscience, medicine, or STEM careers
Beginners: no prior experience required
Students curious about brain health, development, and real-world applications
Students outside of the United States and in other US territories are welcome to apply for the virtual cohort
Students who speak English at an elementary proficiency level
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The NeuroPioneers Pathway is designed to provide students with both foundational knowledge and hands-on application. Each week builds on previous concepts, allowing students to progressively deepen their understanding of neuroscience while engaging in collaborative learning experiences.
Weekly themed sessions (e.g., brain basics, brain health, injury, etc.)
Interactive lessons and discussions
Case-based learning activities
Mentorship from university students
Final project or capstone presentation
REQUIREMENTS
Access to a personal device during programming
The device must include a working microphone and camera
Attendance is highly recommended for program benefits and rewards
No more than four unexcused absences
Be ready to interact with students in the program from different backgrounds: respect, kindness, and cultural humility are required!
